Missing Mileena in Mortal Kombat 11? Here’s What You Need to Know

They say old is gold, and it is true when it comes to our favourite gaming characters. The fans are certainly missing Mileena from the latest version of the game, Mortal Kombat 11. She might be up to something huge while she’s absent from the newest edition.

Mileena has been a fan-favourite evil character who is known for her bossy nature. She’s often been a go-to choice for a considerable number of players. Despite her absence from the Mortal Kombat universe, she still holds a top spot.

Mileena made her debut as an antagonist back in Mortal Kombat 2. She is the mutant hybrid twin of Kitana who was created in the flesh pits of Shang Tsung on the order of Shao Kahn. Shao had become worried that Kitana would betray him when she learns the truth. In contrast to Kitana, Mileena is a twisted, hot-headed sadistic twin whose sole desire is to kill Kitana and claim her existence. Mileena became increasingly unsteady and cannibalistic with the relaunch of the series back in 2011.

Mileena has gained massive popularity due to her looks, the iconic outfits, and her vicious fatalities against men. When it comes to looks, Mileena is nearly indistinguishable from her twin Princess Kitana. This flirtatious evil nature of the twin made her a fan favourite.

We need to find clues from Mileena’s history to get an idea about what she’s up to. The evil twin of Kitana, Mileena was assigned the role of spying on Kitana. This is because Kitna has formed allies with the Earthrealm fighters back in Mortal Kombat 11.

In 2015, Mortal Kombat X continued Mileena’s story as she becomes the Outworld’s empress after the death of Shao Kahn. However, she later gets challenged and eventually overthrown by the furious Kotal Kahn. Mileena makes a promise to regain the throne by using the amulet of Shinnok; however, she fails to do so as she gets captured while making an attempt. The amulet comes extremely handy as it helps her to stay alive, escaping the execution along with some well-on-time help. Later, she gets in a fight with D’Vorah who has allied with Cassie Cage for recovering the amulet. In the end, we see Kotal Kahn deciding Mileena’s fate that she is to be left out to die with parasites that eat flesh.

We do see several mentions about Mileena in Mortal Kombat 11 story mode. As of now, we can only assume that she has gone back to the Netherrealm, and she’s hoping to get another chance of returning to life by making a deal. Following the popular demand, the game creators have allowed Mileena to be a part of Kitana’s celebration of Friendship in the latest edition of Mortal Kombat 11.
